Arrive at Lungi International Airport (FNA). Transfer to hotel via water taxi. No tours today — rest, orientation session, and welcome dinner to prepare for the journey ahead.
Morning boat excursion to Bunce Island — where tens of thousands of enslaved Africans, including Gullah Geechee ancestors, were held before being shipped to South Carolina and Georgia. An emotional, powerful experience. Afternoon transfer to the Eco-Living Oasis at Kent.
Board Fambul Tik's own vessel for a boat excursion to the Banana Islands — a historically significant archipelago where freed slaves settled. Afternoon community walk through Kent village and peninsula. Evening preparation for tomorrow's historic opening ceremony.
The flagship event of the tour. November 14, 2026 marks exactly five years from the day the foundation of the first home was laid. Ribbon-cutting ceremony, cultural performances, government dignitaries, and community celebration. Two investors from our 2019 journey made this possible. You will witness the moment.
Depart Kent for the scenic mountain landscapes of Kabala in Sierra Leone's Northern Province. Approximately 5-6 hours through breathtaking countryside. Evening cultural welcome in Kabala town.
Visit Old Yagala — a fortified hilltop village where Africans built a mesa community specifically to resist the slave trade. Limba cultural performances and elder storytelling. Travel to Makeni for overnight stay.
Visit Rogbonko — famous for traditional basketry that has deep resonance with Gullah Geechee sweetgrass basket-weaving traditions from South Carolina and Georgia. Meet the artisans, learn the craft, and find meaningful souvenirs. Return south to Kent.
A day to breathe, reflect, and absorb everything experienced. Optional beach swimming, exploring the Eco-Living Oasis grounds, or quiet reflection. The sea is at your doorstep.
Full-day Freetown tour: The Cotton Tree, King's Yard Gate, St. George's Cathedral, Old Fourah Bay College, National Museum, Edward Wilmot Blyden Statue, Big Market, and more. Return to Kent for the farewell dinner.
Early morning transfer from Kent to Lungi via water taxi. Check-in and departure. Arrive USA November 21 — Saturday, five days before Thanksgiving. You are home.
