Banana Islands
Western Area Rural District
Three-island archipelago settled by freed slaves — reachable only by boat on Fambul Tik's own vessel from Kent.

The Banana Islands are a small archipelago of three islands — Dublin, Ricketts, and the uninhabited Mes-Meheux — off the south-west tip of the Freetown peninsula. Settled by freed slaves and Liberated Africans in the 19th century, the islands carry visible traces of that history: old slave-era cannons and colonial lampposts still stand among the palms.
Today the islands offer sport fishing, water sports, whale watching, scuba diving, and snorkelling. The surrounding waters are among the clearest on the West African coast. Access is by boat only — a departure from Kent (Day 3) on Fambul Tik's own vessel, a 30-40 minute crossing through the Atlantic approaches.
